PS3

It doesn't have a VGA port as standard,
but I have a.. what do you call it... Playstation MultiAV out to VGA cable adaptor, which I use to plug the PS3 to my projector.

Connected via HDMI to the TV.

Hope this helps.. I'm not sure where it came from, as I got it from my Brother, as he used to to use Linux on his PS2. Probably got it from the bay.

what sort of Res can the PS3 support then cause I've got a Nec 20WGX2 highest Res is 1680x1050 would I be able to just run it as 720p?
 
Yeah, there's a setup screen where you can manually select was res your screen is capable of.

I think it goes

480p
576p
720p
1080i
1080p

probably got 480i and 576i as well, but I'm not in front of the PS3 to check.

I don't think it's possible to deselect 480p and 576p, but that won't matter for games, as they'll all run in 720p anyway. In fact, so far, my screen has only gone down to those reses for DVD playback.

JoeBoi, the european version of the 20wgx2 isn't hdcp, so I don't think there's anyway to connect a ps3 to the tft.

Unless the multiav thingy that V1N has would bypass the hdcp so that it would work, but I don't know if thats possible.

Anychance you can give us the model of the multiav, V1N ???

I'm afraid the multiav adaptor I've got doesn't have a model number on it, but it does have the official Sony Playstation logo on it, so it looks like an official Sony product.

My projector certainly doesn't support HDCP, but HDCP is only for a digital connection anyway. PS3 works fine on my projector, though I only tested it for 10 mins or so, to make sure it works. Waiting to get the cabling fitted tidily.

I tried a few games and they were OK, and I tried the Click Bluray (which was all I had at the time, came free with it) and that worked on the projector too. I did read that bluray disks weren't going to enforce HDCP yet for a few years anyway, to allow people with HD tellies, without HDCP, to be able to use them. Seems this is true, in the case of Click at least.

May be a week or two yet, but when I get the projector set up with the VGA cable again, I'll try my other blurays and games out.

The adaptor itself is a standard Sony Playstation AV out one end, to VGA and stereo phono audio the other.

I can take a photo and upload if required, as it's not all plugged in yet.
