I am thinking about buying a Playstation 3, The main reason is that i want to play GT Prologue and Metal Gear Solid. Dont know if its worth getting the console just for these games though  Any help would be great.

Have a look around at what's available now and what's coming in future months, then decide.

Neither of those two games are expected soon so you'll need to find something that's out now for it to be worth it.

To be honest mate, the games that are out now either dont interest me or i prefer them on the xbox 360. I dont minde waiting on games to be released aslong as they are gonna be something special, is there any other things i should take into considiration when buying a ps3 other than it not having much of a game catalogue ?

It's a decent Blu Ray player, but if you wouldn't use that feature then there isn't much point in buying one now for games that are a few months away. Might as well just wait until the games are available and save a few quid on the console itself.

If you wont be using the Blu Ray player, and non of the games that are out at the moment really interest you, theres no real reason to buy the console yet, just wait till nearer the time. Maybe it will be cheaper then too/will be bundeld in with the console on release.

I personally wouldn't say so, GT Prologue doesn't look that great and is pretty much a large scale retail demo. Metal Gear Solid is obviously a full retail game and should be pretty impressive (even though I have been far than impressed visually at what I've seen thus far). If you think you'll like it, it might be worth investing then rather than now, but for me, Metal Gear Solid has been bettered by Splinter Cell for a while and I find the stealth of Hitman more rewarding.

I'll still be getting MGS4 of course, but it had better be better than the massively overhyped MGS2 otherwise I will cry.
