PS4 and broadband connectivity

Evening all,

Having problems with a PS4 that's stopped connecting to the web, been fine for years. Provider is Virgin and most kit connects, although my son is highly critical of speeds with his Xbox.

Just spent a couple of hours on the phonewith a tech guy, that proved fruitless. (got a headache now too!)

Anyway, has anybody had a similar issue that they manage to resolve?

Yes, I left Virgin.

In all seriousness though. I had vast improvement when I put the SuperHub into Modem mode and connected my own router.

I know spending money isn't the answer you probably want to hear, and that may not be your issue, but it certainly improved mine.

Thank you. Happy to buy another router if that's what's needed. must check contract-length too...

Has your PS4 suddenly developed these issues, or has it been building up over a while ? Reason I ask is that Virgin broadband has had significant outages these last couple of days across the UK. Some of my devices have been affected, and strangely, some less so.
