PS4 and monitor?

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a PS4, I have a 1440p monitor with HDMI input.

How will this work, will it fill the screen and play at 1080p or is it hit and miss and could look rubbish?

Is it worth getting a Pro if I'm pairing with a monitor?

What's the best deals at the moment on either? I want play exclusives SP games like Uncharted series etc

Thanks

My PS4 Pro looks ace on a Dell U2715, I think the fact that it's not running at native resolution is easily offset by the superior quality of the panel.

It's a 1440P monitor the picture is automatically upscaled from 1080P (full screen, no black bars or anything), I've not noticed any issues at all.

thanks, did you have to change any settings or does the monitor just do it itself?

still not sure if a Pro is worth the extra, I suppose its no different if its a monitor or TV

Using an Acer XB270HU on my PS4 atm due to tv bein without a stand. looks fantastic.

I just plugged my hdmi cable in, and switched the video source from DP to HDMI.

It just does it by default, yours will probably do the same if not there will likely be a setting in the menu for scaling.

I'd just get a pro you'll only regret it. :p

Plug a high definition DVD player or PS3 or something into your monitor if you want to see how your monitor handles a 1080P signal.
