PS4 audio issues

Hi all,

I've tried searching to find an answer to my problem but can't seem to find one.

I've had my PS4 since launch hooked up to my Yamaha v673 receiver via HDMI.

PS4 audio settings set to HDMI output and LPCM. The problem I have relates to stereo output. When playing a big name game I get audio which seems correctly mixed from all 5 of my speakers I also get dts-ma when playing blurays.

When I go to play a game such as walking dead, transistor or the sky app all of which only have stereo sound they come through 2 channels as expected when listening to the speakers but rather then outputting it as 2 channel PCM the PS4 is still outputting it as 5 channel PCM but not playing the centre and rear speakers. The problem with this is because my receiver thinks it's receiving 5.1 PCM it won't allow me to use Dolby pro logic or anything similar.... Has anybody got stereo to output just as stereo then auto switch to 5.1 when it's available? The voices on the sky app are so low when just coming from 2 speakers the centre channel pro logic mix would really help here!

Sorry for the bump...

Has anybody had any experience with this? It's really annoying as on stereo games (transistor, walking dead) or stereo apps (sky, demand 5) I only have the 2 front speakers working but my amp is still showing pcm 5.1 so u can't force dolby pro logic in order to use all of my speakers... Its as if the Ps4 can't output stereo just as standard pcm 2.0 it's still sending it in a 5.1 container.

Thanks for any help.

Still does the same thing if this box is ticked or not. The only way I can get it to output stereo on stereo material is to switch to optical output on the settings (still actually using HDMI) but the problem is then this only outputs stereo.

So i end up on HDMI (pcm) for 5.1 material then if I use sky player/iplayer/any stereo game I have to switch to optical (pcm) in order to force stereo so I can use pro logic! It's really annoying having to switch all the time when I change viewing material! Surely HDMI should be able to put out standard stereo.

I get the feeling is something to do with the HDMI sending the wrong information from my receiver to the Ps4.

Can anybody else that has a ps4 and is using a 5.1 receiver with HDMI test something on demand 5 or sky player and let me know what you get. I'm trying to figure out if this is something to do with my specific setup or if the settings on the Ps4 are just broken.....

Thanks again
