Ps4 streaming game audio & party chat issue

Hi guys.

Not sure if this is the right place for it but feel free to put me in the right place.

I have recently got some gear to start streaming and I want to stream my ps4 like I do with the pc. I have an avermedia lgp lite. What I am having problems with is once I connect my headset which is the official ps4 usb wireless one I loose all connection with audio and it goes to my headset. I also have a blue snowball mic and a hyper x cloud 2 headset if that helps. I have hdmi out to the TV. If you need anything else just let me know.

I use obs to stream and for the life of me I cannot get it to work. But I see other streamers without this problem.


I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and fixed it?

I think the issue is that the PS4 can't output audio to both the HDMI and USB at the same time.

If you want to use a headset you would need to use something which attaches it further down stream ie. after your streaming gear has captured the PS4s HDMI audio.

Run an optical cable from your PS4 to your soundcard. Then make sure it's set to sound from optical. You'll then need to go into your volume settings and make sure SPDIF is there, right click and go to Listen and set the "playback through this device" to your sound card.

You'll then be able to play all sound from your PS4 and your PC through one headset. Unless of course you decide to use your Wireless one which can be used instead.

Your mic won't work in game, most streamers end up using a pair of in ear headphones with a mic or the basic PS4 one for talking to people via PSN chat or in game.

That is how i stream via OBS with mysetup. One headset playing both PC and PS4 sound independent PC mic for talking to viewers and the in box PS4 mic under to talk to party members.
