You can also use Bluetooth, for a wireless connection. Any of those cheap USB Bluetooth Adaptors would work, I have some U-Green one on my desktop, to use my PS5 dualsense on it.
Not done it for over a year, but back then I always used the below application to turn off the gamepad lights and some other tweaks that the built in windows drivers don't support.
