PS5 or an RTX 3080 rig. Which would you choose? (video)

As a person who last owned a console back when the Super Nintendo was a thing I did not realise that Play Station owners have to pay a monthly subscription to pay online!

I thought this was scandalous when I first heard about it.

Meh. It costs less than £40 a year and you get 24 free games (2 a month) for that, which doesn't seem like bad value at all really

I'd choose the ps5 if I could game with a keyboard/mouse.

If that's not possible then even a low powered pc with an RX 570 would be better.

An RX 570 can barely keep up with many games unless you like 1080p at low settings.

I would gladly take a PS5 however.

For cost of actual ownership it would still be the PC , beyond payment of the system you can get away with paying nothing more till the death of said system, whilst enjoying a mass collection of free games, no forced subscription for online services and if your so inclined, pirate your way across just about every single player release ever (Not condoning or suggesting that's what you should do) But what you could do and at least the majority of us has done at somepoint during our younger less financially stable days. Add all this to the immessurale back catalogue with virtually endless of other use cases aside from gaming.

There is zero use case were a console can provider a better experience and limitless options for how to game when compared. Even if you possibly take a hit on hardware price to performance at the beginning of a consoles life cycle. The Power often doesn't make up for every other shortcoming like expensive storage options, £50 plus controllers and peripherals, limited 12 month warranty (on the pc side we enjoy 3-10 year warranty in some cases)

You can also spread £500 purchase over each individual component when purchasing to keep the short term spend in check and over the course of several months pay have something really nice in the end that performs well without taking £500 hits.

Ps5. Good singleplayer games with AAA budgets/ graphics and no microtransactions ********.

Pc is mostly better resolution or more FPS but cant come close to those first party sony games since all they have to show is ****** 3rd party games.

Plus, you own your games on ps5.

Probably get a PS5 for a few exclusives like Demon's Souls tbh to compliment the PC, if i can get hold of one.

Not happening. Was a mistake in one of the trailers cause of a simple ‘video template’ card at the end of each trailer.

Chances of this system seller coming to pc as well is close to 0. Maybe 1% after the first 2 years pass.

Shame really enjoyed dark souls 3 and sekiro
