Hi all, I live in the uk. Would I be able to buy a ps5 from the US and it work here as it says the ps5 is not regional and the digital will not require discs.
Any reply’s welcome

I’d imagine it would work just fine, bar the adaptor required for the plug.

Seems a bit pointless now though with the UK launch this coming week, no?

PSU is worldwide voltage so should just work no problem. Can use an adapter or UK power cable with it and it'd work fine. Games are indeed not region locked so no problem there.

However, it's $500 in the US which works out to £380 or so. Most states have around 6% sales tax which brings it up to more like $530/£400 so you save £50 at best, assuming you're able to bring it back yourself. Is a £50 saving worth it for no warranty? I would say not.

Your right about the warranty but he's already said he's concerned there won't be one available in the UK.
I'd also point out resale value will be quite bad in the future. Certainly won't be able to pop to game / cex etc with it either.

More interested to see where in the US OP is picking one up from.
Just a read through the PS5 Reddit would indicate they remain rarer then hens teeth.

Good point, maybe he's just clutching at straws. Best option is to keep glued to the deals and ps5 / gaming retailer for stock, even maybe try phoning / webchat to ask as well.

Interesting question.

I am in the opposite situation - live and work in the Middle East but still got digs in the UK. Do I buy a UK one or do I get a Middle Eastern version?

Current exchange rate pegs it at £455 here
