PSN Localization Help

Hi,

If anybody could share any knowledge it would be much appreciated -

I am English, but currently living in the Czech Republic for work. I purchased a 2nd hand PS3 off a fellow expat living over here, and have had it working for many months happily.

However, although I cannot find my localization detailed in the system settings, it appears to be registered (unsurprisingly) for use in the Czech Republic - The PSN Store is in Czech currently, etc.

I however want to get 4OD, Iplayer, etc. on the system.

Despite my console being registered to the Czech Republic, if I connect the system through a UK VPN, will I then be able to access the UK content? Or will I need to re-register somehow?

Re-registering is not something I am overly enthusiastic about doing - This account has PSN+ on it, and it is also better for me to have the store in Czech currency as it is what I am currently getting paid in.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

It goes by what country your account is registered on. Hence why so many people make US and JP accounts to get demos and stuff we don't don't get in the EU :)

I had the same issue with my Xbox account. Registered it as Norwegian and therefore have limited options compared to the UK one :(

Why don't you make a UK account just for watching 4OD and Iplayer?

I have no doubt Im missing something glaringly obvious here - But I cant see how to log out, let alone create a new account with a different localization?

(I can see New User, but thats not much help)

You answered your own question, select new user and set them up as a UK resident. It will be a new account though with no trophies etc though.

Oops, my bad - I created the new user, but wasn't prompted for any more information so assumed it just ran on the same account.

I have no made a second user in to a UK account (strangely, I couldn't even select Czech Republic if I wanted to, so I'm not sure how I did the first time around). 4OD shows up, but gives me a localization error. iPlayer hangs at loading.

I guess a VPN running through the router will sort these issues out..

No worries, thanks for your help :)

My only concern now is that if I buy a router that can support access with VPN, is whether or not my Czech account will have any problems now that I will be 'in the UK'?

Shouldn't have. I'm in Norway now and my PSN account is UK.

Works like normal except for needing a VPN for streaming. The store etc is still UK and to add funds to the wallet I have to use a UK card or UK PSN wallet card :)
