PSN Network Problem

Been having this problem since I done the last Playstation update!

I am using a wired connection from my PS3 to my O2wireless box (version 1) and I am able to get an internet connection (can use the playstation web browser fine) and a connection to my PC (PS3 Media Server).

I cannot however login to the PSN network to play games, all i get is An error occurred during communication with the server, this is a DNS error. (80710102)

Any ideas?

have you tried rebooting the router?

Sadly, the problem is now widespread, mainly on Sky/O2 broadband network.
This only arised since the new PS3 Firmware update. I would recommend changing the DNS manually to DNS1 4.2.2.2 DNS2 4.2.2.3, as this is known to fix the connection problem.

It is a Be/O2 problem as stated above, use OpenDNS, now i'm on it i'm actually connecting to the PSN faster than ever.

Same for me - I use Sky and have had no end of probs till I used OpenDNS.

I had the same problem and this will sort it out http://www.beforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=9145 I changed the dns address to the top 2 on there and it worked fine after that :cool:

I've always used openDNS, I find them much better than Default ISP DNS server.

So i recommend the change whether you have problems or not, Even if you dont have a console and just a PC, CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE*
