May I? :D

What the **** is it with America/Japan getting games that us Europeans have to wait for, or even better, never get?

Some of them have been up on the other stores for years, and yet we're still waiting?

Do Sony have any good reasons for this apart from general lazyness?

...and breathe...

It's partly to do with the licensing stuff and largely to do with lazyness. Seriously it shouldn't take this long even with licensing problems and when they should know it's going to happen. It is a matter of priority though, Sony don't really prioritise Europe very highly at all. Just look at the console launch in which europe was the only region that got delayed out of the attempted 'world wide launch' and it was the first to have the backwards compatibility stripped along with constant bad support when it comes to PSN.
Sony aren't evil, they're just lazy and uncaring :D

Licensing issues and because we are in Europe, there is the usual lazy excuse of many other languages which makes it longer and difficult for localisation.

Still, after like more than 2 years or so now, why the **** have we not gotten the Castlevania: Symphony of the Night PSOne Classic on our PSN Store yet?!!!!?! GRRRRRRRR!

Well I'm glad that at least Final Fantasy VIII will be out tomorrow.

Well i belive in the case of games made by smaller companies in japan and america that it is much more of a task getting publishers willing to publish the games over here, also theres the fact that to actually make it worthwhile to have games in europe they need to be in many of the european languages to appeal to a larger range of the market apart from just the english speaking people.

I know, it sucks that we don't have Suikoden 2 either which the Americans got quite a bit back. Sony simply aren't pushing the companies to do enough and the devs aren't motivated by sony charging them for bandwidth.

My main case in point is Spyro 2 actually.

Went up on Europe PSN in 2007. Withdrawn soon after.

Did Sony fix it and relaunch? Did they heck. 30-odd months later, still no game!

I hear you. I can say the same about them making known what will be up on the PSN soon, as well. I set up an American account just to play Metal Gear Solid on my PSP, I went out of my way to do this, solely because I didn't want to be a pirate, I wanted to support Sony, give them my hard earned money and what did they do?

They took a game that the Americans had on the PSN for almost a year, made no official plans or announcements to put it on the Euro PSN and then a month after I went through the hassle of setting up an account and adding American points, they decided they would put it up on the ****ing Euro store.

AND WHERE THE HELL ARE GRAN TURISMO AND RESIDENT EVIL 1,2 & 3 ffs?

"Classics"? Don't make me ****ing laugh, Sony. Give us the REAL classics, not some ****ty Disney effort that nobody gives two ****s about.

Here is another little annoyance and rant that I totally forgotten about.

Why is it that after all this time, we still do not have in-game screenshots in the information box section of the games/demos avaliable?

the only reason why i keep my psp is for ff7 and ff8. resident evils would be great if they could be downloaded on the psp! i want to give sony my money and not pirate games too.

It takes so long to come to the EU store because it's the EU! America and Japan are simple they just have 1 currency/language.

I think there are around 20 EU Stores they have to update.

To be fair putting a game on PSN does not require translating, they should already have the game in each language as they don't remake them. Simply it's slow because they choose to not prioritise it. The currency argument would work if we'd not got 2 left for the most of europe (£ sterling and euro). To put up a game should not take 2 years.

Can I have a rant, why do the Europeans sometimes get games before the US.. Some titles such as Fifa & Forza launch in the EU before the US and some PSN titles such as Outrun haven't even shown up here yet.

So we are all in the same boat..

Not when the amount of games is vastly disproportionate with the EU side getting much more of the games later and they tend to have to wait longer too. I remember getting angry about this topic about a year ago, saw a game was coming to the EU first then noticed america got it 3 to 7 days later. Did we really get much of a bonus there? 1 week? Compare that to delays of 6 months to 2 years and you'd have to be silly to think it's the same boat.

Tales of vesperia for example was 1 year later. I live in the UK, I speak the same damn language as America so a 1 year delay? Did they somehow not anticipate they'd need to localize this for europe and wait till the last minute to sort it?

FIFA is an easy and obvious one as football (Soccer in your land :p) is much MUCH more popular here in Europe, and a new FIFA title always dominates the U.K sales charts. A reversal of this is like saying why does the US get a Madden NFL game earlier than the EU. :D

Forza and OutRun Online Arcade, I've no idea. Funny how the Xbox Live Arcade version came out in both the EU and US at the same time.

This is what I love about Xbox Live, 99.9% of the games are on all regions of XBL and more or less come out at the sametime. Look at how many months Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix was on XBL for and when it did come to PSN?!?!!? Oh, when Street Fighter 4 was released at the same day.....totally pointless.
As already said, its Sony being lazy and doing us over. If Castlevania: Symphony of the Night can come to XBL for the EU then Sony has no reason to do the same for PSN either.

Thing is the XBLA version was handled by a third-party and it features leaderboards and achievements plus some of it's own giltches.

The PSN version is the actual PSOne retail game.

In terms of the PSOne games, they only put up what the publishers ask/pay them to and currently it seems that only Disney are interested in the EU market.
Mike Kebby on the Sony EU blog gets it in the ear every update about PSOne games, but it's not Sony who make the decisions about the PSOne games to be uploaded, it's Konami, Capcom, [insert software house], etc...
The argument against them is legitimate in regards to PSN games and DLC, but for PSOne games, it's out of their hands.

Why can't they add the UK to their America/Japan list and make the rest of Europe wait as they are doing? :p
This argument was put forward and the rather unsatisfying answer was that it would annoy non-english speaking EU countries.

Hands up who gives a **** if a few frenchies get miffed...
