PSP firmware 2.8 released and new demo

Didn't see anything via searching but 2.8 is out now for download and also a demo of World Tour Soccer 2, which doesn't actually seem that bad.

Also firmware 2.6 and 2.71 has been cracked allowing psp isos to be run again, so there is no reason to be using ver 1.5 anymore.

Im not telling people how to do it or discussing it, it is general interest information, there has never been any rules against posting stories about firmware being cracked in the past either.

Annoyingly http://www.yourpsp.com doesn't seem to allow me to register my Jap PSP (the model number for a JAP unit isn't in the dropdown). Not that I particularly wanted to play WTS2, but im worried other demos wont be available to me, although Mercury 2 was on the Sony site. Is there another good resource for demos?

It allowed me to register my jap psp, I even got the spiderman 2 umd which was for the first million registered users.

Hmm mines a PSP-1000 which it doesn't have an option for. Choosing another option results in it not being able to match the serial and model. Weird.

It seems like its only for Europe users/psps.

So the question remains, is there another resource for PSP demos?

As the demos are basic EBOOT files you'll normally find other gaming sites post them for download. You just need to use google. Quite simple.

Will I still be able to use pspvideo9 to put stuff on the memorystick with these newer firmwares?

I'm actually suprised at how good world tour soccer 2 is. I mean I wasn't expecting anything from it really but the gameplay is certainly there and plays better than Fifa on any platform. However I'm not too keen on the points system whereby you get points for sexy play. Fair enough it adds fun to the game but I think it is just unnecessary.

the first onehad that as an extra game mode, bloody frustrating on later levels, might download demo later on and have a blast

I had the same problem but i just but in the closest version to 1000 and i got my UMD

I think they only check the serial numbers.
