I need a handheld console for the nightshift.
Vita comes out in FEB 2012 so i cant wait that long.
are the graphics still good on the current PSP ?

are the graphics on the nintendo 3Ds better?

hmm

I had a PSP when it first launched. The graphics were and still are decent for a handheld. Sold it due to lack of games that interested me, though that seems less of a problem now

The PSP still holds its own over the "competition", until Vita comes out.

You can pick up a PSP 1000 for peanuts are there is a huge 2ndhand market for games. IMO It has a much wider and more mature range of titles available.

I say go with the PSP.

I'm getting mine ready to take on holiday.

I think the graphics are fine for it being a handheld and all but tbh I use it more for watching videos or as a Megadrive/Snes emulator.

Surely your not picking your handheld off just gfx?

The question I would asking myself is, what type of games do I enjoy playing? this will then result in you picking the right handheld to suit you.

I use my XPERIA PLAY to play old PS1/SNES/MD classics then have the DS for games like pokemon. I sold my PSP because it was collecting dust but I will be waiting for the VITA.

The graphics on the PSP still look great imho. As long as you are aware its near the end of its life its a great buy. Cheap hardware, super cheap UMD games, cheap and varied digital downloads of both PSP and PSone titles (with the option to also buy from the US / Japanese stores).

It's fantastic for a handheld though the graphical quality can vary wildly. Some games are almost PS2 quality, while others only look slightly better than Playstation quality. There's a huge catalogue of games and as other posters have pointed out you can buy the majority of games cheaply second hand. It's almost near the end of it's life though, the Vita should be out here early next year but that wouldn't put me off if I was buying a handheld right now.

The only downside is how pixelated things are. That's one of the main reasons I'm so interested in the Vita... great resolution (like the iphone4).

Just get a decent smartphone. They have more addictive games, and things you dont have to put too much concentration into.

Or do what i did, and take your laptop to night shifts and put Lost series 1 on, and start watching all the way through lol

Nintendo 3DS causes your eyes to hurt & become slightly blurry. I would choose a PSP, I have one myself. They are good for using them on the go, or at home. It depends on what you're using it for.

A PSP is well worth picking up, along with FF7 from the PSN. Hours of night shift gone, with just one game!
