im struggling to decide, let me first saw ive already owned a psp but sold it due to lack of use and need of funds! i had one when they first came out and there was very few games

i assume there are some must haves now, surely the next version of pro evo will be better and football manager looks cool

but the ds looks so shiney, mario kart mario 64 etc!

what to do?

As with all things look at the games on the system and decide which of those you want to play.

I had this decision over the past two weeks before I settled on the PSP. The fact that Tekken: Dark Resurrection is coming out on the system sealed it for me plus there is GTA Liberty city stories - you have to love the GTA games! Plus you now have oher titles out that are worth a look such as Siphon Filter Dark Mirror, Brothers in Arms, Field Commander and Ultimate Ghosts 'n; Goblins all coming soon.

Plus I plan to use my PSP for music and photos as well, I don't believe that the DS does this.

I could find no games that interested me on the DS apart from Metroid and the Mario games, but I have the GC for them.

But it is like I said - go for what ever floats your boat.

ive played on niether, but i think the DS could take more punishement than the PSP, which is a plus for me, and looks more pick up and play, and the games look better

Owned both, PSP has long been out of my possession via the famous auction site. Had a DS since it came out, got a lite imported from japan. By far the best for gaming.

I personally haven't found any of the games on the PSP appealing so far, but that's just me. My train journeys aren't long enough to fit in a game of Pro Evo and I prefer to just wait until I get home and play it on the PS2 instead. Innovative games like Brain Training and Trauma Center, plus the wonderful Nintendo Wi-Fi service are what's making me buy a DS Lite in a few weeks.

It all comes down to personal preference. I think we are all old enough now to ignore stuff such as 'ZOMG, u paly k1ddy g4m3s!!!'

If it interests you sony are bringing out an online service later this year which will allow you to buy ps1 games, download them, then play them on your psp.

With your PSP the majority of the games appear to be simply ports from the Playstation.
With the DS you've actually got new games - games that aren't curently appearing on any other format.
Then when you shop around and find you can get a whole library of DS Games from £11.99 - £19.99.

I bought my fiancee one for her birthday (White Lite) and she is forever playing Tetris, Mario Kart etc.

Well since buying my DS Lite a couple of weeks back my Xbox360 hasn't been touched, that says something I think :)

As with many other people I own both and the DS gets the most play by far. The PSP only tends to come out when we go away on holidays, while the DS normally gets at least some play most days.

I have a PSP and have played on (non-lite) DS.

I would go for the DS as it seems to have a lot more potential and a much bigger games library, whereas the PSP is full of cheap PS2 ports and is to expensive and fragile to take outside your house.

I have both (Again  ) and love them both. They both have thier unique qualitys really...

DS: Games are colourfull, bright and have a great sense of fun. Looks great and has a sense of carelessness about it. (As in you can be a bit more rugged and chuck it in a bag etc) You can play movies and music with max media player or the like but movies are not great quality. Aimed more at the younger market.

PSP: Technically better, awesome graphics and sound, techicnally superior games especially driving games. It looks amazing... I actually forgot how good the screen is. Plays movies and they look stunning (You can now buy movies for as little as £6 each!) Surf net, play music and other videos. Aimed more at the older generation of gamers.

So if you like games that are a little more fun go for the DS... With stuff like advanced wars, new mario bros, mario kart and a new zelda coming you are on to a winner...

But if you like eye candy, great sound, and love games that are technically better such as Tekken, Syphon filter, GTA and aparently a really good conversion of MSG then the PSP is for you... (Oh and there are rumors of a psp version of resident evil oubreak with online play! YEY!)

Oh but 1 more thing about the psp... Where the heck is Gran Turismo Mobile??? I am sure there will be a lot of really annoyed ppl that have bought a psp and this doesnt actually emerge...

DS can play movies and MP3s now as well. Some carts have a SD/CF slot so you can go up to over 4 GB of storage

The MP3s can play, even with the DS closed as well. :)
