PSP or DS ?

To be honest if you don't touch your DS that much then getting a PSP isn't going to change your playstyle. I've had my PSP since release and I've only ever owned 5 games.

Really enjoy the DS though, quality system, I'd definitely recommend it over the PSP.

PSP has an awesome selection of retail and downloadable games, also don't forget the UMD-less PSP2/4000 series should be announced at E3 this year so that means from then on all future games will be available via the PSN store which will be great, faster loading times and no battery draining UMD drive, what I'd recommend to the original poster is sticking with the DS for now and try finding some games you like and wait until we see what E3 has to offer in regards to the next PSP.

Games I'd recommend for the DS atm are,

Peggle: Dual Shot (OMFG buy this game) - The game is region free available via import atm.
Tetris DS
The New Super Mario Brothers
Super Mario 64 DS
Mario Kart DS
The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords
The Phoenix Wright Series
Sonic Rush
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
SimCity DS
Populous DS
Chrono Trigger
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
The Castlevania Series
Advance Wars: Dual Strike

And don't forget about all the awesome Gameboy advance games that are out there that work with the DS and they can be found very cheaply,

Mario Kart Super Circuit
Super Mario Bros. (The NES Game)
Super Mario Advance
Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2 (A M A Z I N G !!!)
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
Super Mario Bros. 3: Super Mario Advance 4
The Legend of Zelda (The NES Game)
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
The Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mario Golf: Advance Tour
Metroid Fusion
Metroid: Zero Mission
Advance Wars 1&2
The Castlevania Series
Sonic Advance
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts
Doom 1 & 2 (yeah I know, not the best versions but I'm a hardoned doom fan and they look pretty cool on a micro DS :))

Looking back the GBA had many awesome games, I still think it's one of the best handhelds out.

That peggle game is so bloody addictive! i "acquired" it yesterday and was playing it until my battery started dying 4 hours later :P

PSP with cfw anyday the reason being you can play most the greatest ps1 games, that's pretty much all I use mine for. If you can look into it and get a PSP Slim & Lite email is in trust if you want any info...

I have got both a ds and a psp and the ds gets used a lot more, but it is horses for coarses really. There are some cracking games for both systems so it really boils down to what kind of games you like playing .

Did they fix the issue with the screen cutting off at the bottom?

I have both, PSP can get abit hard on the hands, especially the analogue stick.

I've had a lot more fun with the DS tbh. It's really really fun, there's a lot of smaller software on it like cooking games, pointless maybe but for some very handy. It's a lot better on the road too.

Ds +1 from me.

Some of the most innovative games I've played. Puzzle quest, dr leyton, mario and luigi brothers in time and not to forget chrono trigger!

oh and brain training for the old noggin' ;]

Main reason I played my PSP was for Pokemon FireRed. :o

It has some good 'proper' PSP games but my god I just didn't enjoy playing them on the PSP, God of War is good though.

Weve got 1 PSP and 2 DS's, Id say the PSP is the better hand held on paper but our DS's get used a lot more than the PSP, infact I cant remember the last time we used the PSP.

pata, pata, pata, pon.
pon, pon, pata, pon.
DON, DON-DON, DON-DON!

AEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Epic game, one of my favorite games ever actually, so unique, cute and enjoyable.

How little ye know, it's awesome. You use the buttons to play certain types of drum beat in rhythm, different types of beat encourage the patapons to do different things such as attack, defend, march, flee etc. You get rewarded for having perfect rhythm for a certain amount of time and the patapons go into 'fever' mode where they're uber strong. The music changes according to how well you're doing so it gets really exciting when you hit a really long chain of perfect beats, the music gets really intense and your patapons just tear through the enemy, but miss one beat and they'll lose all momentum and be incredibly vulnerable.

There's also a RPG element where between levels you can equip your patapons with different weapons and armour and 'reincarnate' different types of patapon for your army such as mounted units, bowmen etc.

It looks incredibly strange until you try it, then you realize it is in fact genius.

I have both and I would probably say DS although this could change depending on what day you ask me :p The points that spring to mind are:

DS:

Loads of really good games
The fold-up desing makes it very portable and safe
Good battery life
Screen is a bit on the small side
Performance/graphics isn't great but adequate most of the time

PSP

There are some very good games but there are piles and piles of 6/10 games. Don't make any impulse purchases!
The huge screen makes you sometimes forget you are playing a hand-held
Although small and light it seems too delicate or just chuck in your pocket, mainly due to the large screen.
Battery life isn't great but varies depending on what you are playing
Performance/graphics are really good.
Because of it's high perforance, a lot of FPS games appeared on it and even though they often look great, I don't think they work very well on a hand held, especially with only 1 analogue stick.
