The gf is going to buy me a psp for my b'day in the next couple of weeks :D

Now what can i do with it? Bar play games and watch movies?

Any decent sites to download stuff from? Do you get a usb cable with it to link the psp with the pc?

So many questions!

Listen to mp3's and .wma's and also .aac's
Look at pictures
Watch TV (location free player required)
Browse the internet (although it's not the best feature I'd rather have it than not)

yourpsp.com provides some videos such as music videos etc. picture and some music as well.

I didn't get a USB cable with mine but then again I got the value pack whenever it first came out. I'm not sure but I think the Giga pack contains a USB cable.

DS's are cool and are very innovative and have great games. However I think I made the right choice in getting a PSP. The new DS lites are pretty cool as well. The are lighter, smaller and brighter than the original DS's.

EDIT. it's up to you. PSP would be what I would rather have over a DS. But it's a matter of opinion. Try and demo both of them if you can.

Personally i would go a for a DS lite, ive had my psp for 10 months and only got 2 games for it and havnt played it in a while, while ive use my DS all the time, the line up for the DS is better, whats out and coming out is just simply better, only game im looking forward on the psp to is tomb radier.
 
I do like the nintendo games, i can also see what people mean when they say the psp games are rehashed ps2 games.

Has anyone played any movies on the ds?

The giga pack comes with a USB cable, a stand and a 1Gb memory card (instead of the 32Mb you get with the value pack).
 
i'd take a look at whats coming for psp .. sony really didnt show much at all on the PSP front at E3 bar metal gear and loco roco .. DS has an awesome catalogue at the moment along with the GBA back catalogue along with some real quality titles on their way.. the Lite is a fantastic unit .. browser coming soon etc if you fancy a bit of that and so on also.
