PSU - 4 Pin and 8 pin connections. Should I use both?

Hi guys.

I have this board:

At the top there is an 8 pin connector, and a 4 pin connector for powering the CPU.

I currently have the 8 pin connector all hooked up and the pc is running fine. But should I also hook up the 4 pin connector too?

Im not sure, but ill take a punt and say its for extra juice for overclocking.

Yeah i get that feeling too. I'm just not sure if I should plop the second one in or not. Idon't seem to need to. I was just wondering if it's worth it for stability.

I just had the same question the other day on my new build....After looking around for advice i found that the extra plugs are for more power for second cards and overclocking ... I just use the 4 pin and it's fine

Just use the 8pin.

The 4 pin ATX is there to add more power when doing serious (LN2) overclocking, yet overclockers like 8Pack and Dinos22 have stated they have seen no need to use it even under those conditions.
