I would get a better power supply than the Xigmatek Tauro. The one below is more expensive, but it is definately worth it.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Seasonic G series 550w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £79.99
Total : £90.49 (includes shipping : £8.75).

This is true. I used that one because it fit the budget and isn't a bad PSU.

If you can get this one, comes with loads of free games and free delivery which means it wouldn't cost that much more!
YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **FREE SHIPPING** £215.99

thanx again guys,
ill get the 1 x HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M) **FREE SHIPPING** £215.99. its a little more but not thast big a difference.
and depending on cash flow ill consider the psu linked by lee32uk :)

you have all been a great help :)

yeah i have never played it to be honest, im more of a cod/moh player.
and xmas is just around the corner so nice new upgrades should keep me going for a while

wont allow me to edit my post for some reason, states not enough character entered.

anyway while on the subject of upgrading, should i replace my ram with new ones. (currently i have 4gig) i have seen another ram stick 4gig as standard that came with my pc for around £35 which would then give me 8.
i know its preferable to keep the ram the same so should i remove my current and start from scratch seeing as im updating a few other things as well it might make more sence to do so
not sure what ones i should get tho.

thank you once again.

i know i wanrted a lot of help, so many brands/models and variations to choose from i was lost.
i do however have pc knowledge in some areas and with help and advice around here im certain ill pick more up in the future.

these boards are a god send as i have spent the last few hours reading up on topics here for future reference, im sure ill get the hang of it soon :)

thank you guys/gals :)

all the items you suggestion are now on my xmas wishlist, come on santa be nice to me lol

ok, update for you all.
purchased the power supply and it arrived this morning.
i did unbox and check to make sure it will fit inside and there is plenty of room so thats great.

i do have a question i couldn't see the answer to on the main page.

as i prob aint going to install everything until after Xmas if the items are faulty what are the terms of the guarantee on returned items.

If an item is faulty, you can send it back and have it replaced. I would test it out now, if you have a PC to do so. Then if it is faulty, you can send it back at no cost, as it will be in the OCUK 14 day satisfactory period.

As above said, test it now if you can, if at all theirs a problem after Christmas outside of the 14 day period with any parts than contact OCUK and they will guide you to there RMA service to sort things out. Ive used this in the past and without a doubt OCUK Customer Service / RMA is the best out there so be reassured that if you have a problem OCUK will do there best to sort it out with you, that's why I wont shop anywhere else!

thanx .
i also emailed ocuk and this is the response i got from them.

If a fault occurs within the first 28 following arrival with you, we would refund or replace the PSU from stock wherever possible. Outside of 28 days, but under the warranty, most manufacturers require us to send the item back to them to repair or replace under the manufacturers warranty.
In the unlikely event of a problem, please contact our support technicians...

as i still have the warranty as stated and my pc is in progress ill have to wait untill after xmas to test it out.
but im sure it will be fine.

also while browsing for all the other things i want to get then this place looks like im going to get everything i need so i have no need to look elsewhere :)

xmas greetings to you all :)

small question to ask.
was about to add my psu but noticed i dont have a European to UK Adapter.
can i use any 3 pin adapter to plug into my socket

sorry should have explained it better.
my psu has the cable but it only has the 2 pins on it.
i need the 3 pins to be able to plug it in.

or are you saying i just get a lead like you posted and replace it with that.

thanx for the reply and merry xmas to you

If you don't need it today then a kettle lead would be the best bet. An alternative would be to chop the 2 pin plug off and wire a standard plug in it's place (3amp or 5amp fuse).

Merry xmas to you too :)

thanx very much, ill cut the end and add a plug to it.

regards
mick

edit: plug cut, added new 3 pin plug with 5amp and working fine.
thank you kind sir :)
