So I was looking it up few days and I think I know something about Power Supplies and Graphics cards. These are my current PC specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
3GB (3072MB) RAM
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
nVidia GeForce 8500GT
300w power supply
Monitor - HP w1907v 19"
Resolutions that I usually play at - 1440x900

My budget is £210 but £30 goes for Age of Conan pre-order so that leaves me with £180 budget to spend on a new graphics card. But as I found, the new graphics card won't run so easily on 300w so I need a new Power Supply as well. These are the 3 options I thought about:

Option 1 (I would have to order by the end of this week):

Graphics Card - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-044-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1008

Power Supply - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-023-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1098

Option 2:

Graphics Card - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-088-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=927

Power Supply - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-026-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1098 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-006-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

Option 3:

Graphics Card - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-002-PN&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1008 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-071-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1008

Power Supply - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-150-CM&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1103 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-OC&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1098

Please, tell me which of these options is the best one. Also, feel free to add your own options that you would suggest to me in the maximum price £180 - £185. Thank you for all your replies, highly appreciated.

PSU and Graphics card

At the resolution you are playing at i would go for option 3.
The pny 8800gt card is very good i bought one from overclockers last week.
I upgraded from a 7800gtx and i am amazed at the difference the card made.
My 3dmark06 score doubled.
In my system the idle temps from the card are about 42 and under load it only goes up to around 60.
I would go for the corsair power supply.

Hello majkkali, taking into account the resolution that you game at, then I would defiantly choose the PNY GeForce 8800 GT 512MB which is currently selling for a cracking price.

Now, as far as a power supply unit is concerned. If you are looking for a modular power supply unit then the Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU would be an excellent choice. If you are not to concerned about purchasing a modular power supply then the Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU which again is currently selling at an amazing price would be absolutely fine. :)

Why PNY 8800GT and not this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-044-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1008 I mean just look at the specs. Greatly overclocked. Explain to me why PNY would be a better choice please :)

If you buy it when it's out of stock and they take your money at the reduced price, then when it comes in stock they can't charge you more, it becomes a contract (but only once they take your money mind)
