PSU blew in my face

Corsairs have an excellent 5 year warranty, but their service center is in Holland. If it fails in the first year the retailer should handle everything including pick-up & delivery costs. In my case I got a new Corsair PSU from the e-tailer within 7 days door to door.

i don't like OCZ powersupplys ethoir, I ll now only have corsiar, tagan, PCP&cooling thermaltake ant too bad ethoir

however I m playing save and saying ethoir the 650wat corsiar or the PC power and cooling

lol i just hope its not that u connected the psu wrong and it blew up. BTW OCZ have a "powerswap" waranty so they replace faulty psu with a new one, no questions asked

to the guy above - OCZ own pc power and cooling :p

Can anyone say which psu brands have UK RMAs seeing as returning a brick is fairly expensive on postage?

Pretty sure no one has UK RMA's any more, which is kind of sad.
Infact you would be hard pressed to find ANY manufacturer that RMA's within the UK.
Only ones I can think of are BFG, Crucial and Gigabyte :(

Having gotten the doom out of the way, defiantly get a Corsair.
I've owned a HX520 which was fantastic, which I sold on the MM and is still going strong to my knowledge.
And my current HX850 which is quite simpily the best darn PSU I have ever had, the thing is built like a tank, has more cables than you will ever need and it has a 7 (yes SEVEN) year warranty.

sure its sure its not the other way, hell I ve even seen OCZ with ABS labs on them O_O and thats tagan

I've had an OCZ Powerstream for about 4-5 years and it has been very good. That said it was £105 back then and maybe the quality has slipped since?

Who is the OEM for OCZ PSU;s?

The OCZ PSU's are mostly manufactured by Sirtec or FSP or Topower, there may be some exceptions.

If you buy a Corsair PSU it could come from either Channel Well Technology or Seasonic depending on the model.

Zalman have UK RMA and also i believe so does Enermax although it's through a competitor and most likely is the reason OCUK do not stock them anymore.

Excellent info, thanks. That last site is especially helpful. It appears my corsair hx620 is made by seasonic, that explains why it looks so similar to my seasonic s12. :)

Has been quite a time since I heard of a psu going pop...in my last job I worked a repairs technician, the pc build crew worked just accross the warehouse from us...we regularly heard the loud pop of cheap psu's that come with cases going pop.

CORSAIR -running 2 HX620's, 2 and 1 year old, still very quiet even under load. Next build guess what going to use HX850 for my i7 PC. Yes even the odd Corsair psu fails but look how many they sell.
