Hey guys,

Can an aging, cheap (supplied with £15.00 case) psu cause random bsod's and restarts? I imagine it could, but I've never experienced it first hand before, so I thought I'd ask here :)

One of my older machines, an 1.4 GHz AMD Athlon (overclocked to 1.5 GHz :D) has suddenly started playing up? I've run memtest for about 4hrs and that was fine and now I'm looking to the psu...

Either way, I'll probably end up getting a new psu, just to be on the safe side!

Cheers,

SW.

under load its likely the voltages of a cheap psu will fluctuate causing instability, cheap psu's that come with cases r dodgey, buy soemthing beefy from a good brand like coolermaster and compare the weight of the 2 lol then u'll prob throw the old one out the window :)
