PSU Caused Fire

Depends how much hassle the op want's tbh, at the mo he has it back and can resell it if he gets in to a long winded battle with this guy it could be weeks without a resolution

This is where my inner evil comes out.
You'd have nothing to lose. You have the PSU and the money and the buyer needs to pay you to send it back or will try to argue it out.
I'd drag it out to teach them a lesson.

If he paid via bt then drag it out as it cant be reversed if it was pp the guy will start a claim with them ect

I'd connect the PSU to a system known as working and stress the PSU with various benchmarks and stress tests. Something like HWiNFO will help you keep an eye on the voltages - ideally you don't want the voltages to exceed a range of 5%.

Guy is a member on here

You sold something to a forum member yet don't have access to the MM ...
From what the op has said so far then id just refund him and chalk it up to experience

Think we found the buyer chaps.... :D

Sold and paid with PayPal gift, he did say initially he couldn't get it to work. Anyway he returned his SSD to Crucial who have refused to replace it saying it was damaged by a surge.

Also sold him a couple of 280x cards, one of them got returned broken after 2 weeks also. Going to send the PSU along with a spare 280x back to him. I thought selling off eBay would be hassle free, sold a dozen cards, motherboards and other bits at same time without issue one eBay. Had 2 mining rigs which i stripped down and sold the bits from.

You are a much much much nicer person than I am.

Hes returned a knackered GFx card and now states the PSU is knackered?
If the PSU went pop bang it would be 100% dead, the smoke from it also stinks for absolutely ages you'd deffo be able to smell it on the PSU.

He does sound somewhat "problematic", have you tested the 2nd gfx?

How did you sell to someone on here? but suggested selling on eBay, but received payment as PPG?
