PSU clicking and not booting up

Flashed the bios to F6 and now it's properly broke. PSU just cycles... Board must be dead surely?

Edit: tried the second bios, same thing. Can get into this bios but same issues as before.

Tried the cbat button again, bios reset. Saved and rebooted, psu cycled twice and then booted.

Turned off all power saving toons for the CPU.

What I don't understand is why the PC turns itself back on after being told to shut down.

Any other ideas?

Edit: building it outside the case, one stick of ram and no GPU , same thing :(

Hi,
Has anyone ever experienced the above? The psu will just click, light up for a second or two and shut off, and repeat. The computer refuses to POST or BOOT.

PSU is a Superflower 850w with an i7 4790k and a Gigabyte Z97 SOC Force motherboard. RAM is 8gb TeamGroup.

Had to pull the plug and start up that way :(

Get a torch in there and check there aren't any loose components blocking the fan or anything.

I had a similar issue with a budget superflower psu >.<

Nah nothing like that I can see. Gave it a gentle shake and no rattling.

Reseated the CPU and it's still the same... it actually booted fine about 5 times.. but then back to square one :(
