PSU Connection to MOBO ATX

Hi,

Going to order a new motherboard and in the specs it says:
1. 1 24-pin ATX power connector

But my power supply only has a 20-pin atx power connector. Will this work with the new motherboard?

Yes, But what PSU do you have? It may be time to upgrade it.

I need a new mobo for an emachines pc. It's some generic brand, think it was bestec. But if possible just want to buy mobo, as don't have lots to spend. So will it work?

Yes should work, I have an Enermax PSU with only a 20 pin and a 4 pin mobo connector and my system fired up no probs. The extra 4 pins are required for stability and really come into their own when overclocking from what I've read.

Do you know the wattage for your current PSU?

Current PSU is 300W but as I say the brand is not gonna be good
