As the title says, my PSU decided to kick the bucket,

This is a first for me so I have a few questions:

1) How do I know if its killed other components on its way out?

2) Whats a good replacement for it? (It was an Akasa 460w)

Cheers :)

Have you got a friend who can lend you a psu?- check if the pc boots up using a PSU known to work. Could also run a stress test with it to ensure everything is still fine.

As for a replacement - a very good value one is this OCZ. Corsairs are also highly recommended. If you want the best one available - this Be Quiet is the one.
