Hey guys, I know I posted a few days back about my PSU but found out I put the wrong PSU, I actually have an Enermal Liberty 500W PSU.

Is this enough to handle an E8400 CPU, 4GB memory, Blu-Ray Drive, 2 Velociraptors in raid, with a 320gb & 500gb Drives for backup, and at the moment a HD4870 GFX...although soon to be eitherer a HD4870X2 or GTX 280

It should be okay but I think it's not ideal to run your PSU at close to 100% (when gaming) for a prolong period of time. I've seen others running 4870 with Corsair 520 fine but with 4870X2, upgrade your PSU is recommended.

I would upgrade PSU if I were you though, a PC Power Cooling 750W would last you a long time.

I'd ideally like to keep with the modular design so dont have to have loads of cables in my case

Yep, assuming current limiters won't mess things.
You might just need to use some adapters for powering that crossfire card.

PSU will be plenty, just done a quick estimate at extreme psu they show up at 460w with cpu overclocked at 4ghz.

Your liberty 500W has a 12V output of 384W.

It will be fine with a single 4870 but should you go X2 you'll be looking for a bigger unit

Think will look at getting a new PSU in the next few weeks just to be safe...probably 650W + for long term use

How does the Enermax Infiniti 720W EIN720AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU rate? I've got an Enermax at the moment and I rate them very highly
