Hi,

I have always had my PSU (Corsair GS600 Gaming PSU) facing up the way so it drags heat out of my computer and out of the back.. but mainly cause it has blue led fans and looks boss.

However I see most people saying put your PSU facing down the way.

What is the best way to have this and what is the advantages/disadvantages?

Thanks

Ah so does the PSU fan work by cooling only itself? I assumed if you face it up it would drag any hot air that my GPU fires out and throw it out the back :S

Not 100% sure but my guess would be that it is more focused on cooling itself instead of being an extra exhaust. Hot air rises so I don't think it would be effective as an exhaust, would depend on what your fan setup in your case is like.

I'm relatively new to all this so the OC gurus may be able to shed more light! :D

My psu sits at the bottom of my case sucking air up into it from under the case and out the back

It is effectively separate from the internal case airflow completely

I don't personally want my psu acting as a case fan. I would almost certainly say most people are the same

Unless your PC is an oven and your PSU isn't the cheapest thing available it makes no difference really, go for whatever you think looks better :)

As above, have the fan facing down if you case has the intake for it, nice cool air to keep it cool so it's also quiet.

If mounted at the top of the case it's almost always used as an exhaust as cases don't have an inlet on top.
