Bought a 1000w psu last year that recently suddenly died on me out of the blue.have sent it back to Oc uk and waiting for replacement or repair apparently, but they have 8 in stock,is it normal to send psu back to manufacturer?
Would have thought they would sent me one of the ones they have in stock?

Pretty sure they do RMA testing of their own to try and determine what the problem is before issuing any new hardware. All the information should be in any correspondence RMA emails you've exchanged with them.
