PSU failure?

Hi,

Just put in second drive (SSD) and now PC won't switch on, light on motherboard is lit though.

All the connections seem secure, reckon psu failed? I actually forgot to plug in power supply to ssd when I first switched back on, was just the sata cable in,

I could get a multimeter on it tomorrow but wondering if anything else I could check in the interim, at a bit of a loose end now!

Well, what parts you have there?

Though PSU with bad capacitors can often fail when getting disconnected from power.
Ironically while heat always lowers life of capacitors, especially lower quality ones, it can also keep bad capacitors functioning just enough for PC to work.
Untill PC gets disconnected from wall and PSU cools.

I have everything, pc was running fine before I put ssd in.

I removed ssd and ram just now and tried but still nothing. No beeps, no fans spinning, nothing. But that light on mb is lit.

**EDIT** -- the little two pin 5v connector from power button to motherboard had got disconnected, sorted now:rolleyes:
