Sorry I know this has probably been done to death but my googling didn't find anything recent.

I've got a noisy coolermaster psu - probably around 550w and I want to replace the fan with a akasa apache or a noctua. Is there anything I need to be aware of in terms of it not being safe to do so.

I was thinking of either using a 3 to 2 pin convertor to plug it into the psu or just simply popping it out of the psu box and into the motherboard or a powered fan header?

Thanks

Thanks just what I was after - do you know if the apache or noctua use sleeve bearings? I read the noctua use a oil bearing? and the apache blurb says hydro?
