PSU fan very loud

Hi, I've just done my first rig and it didn't go too smoothly. I eventually got everything running and working with windows 7 installed and lots of programs like skype and google chrome downloaded.

The only problem is that my PSU fan is very loud and isn't sounding very safe. Any ideas?
 
change it for a quieter fan or buy a new psu. no one advises opening a psu ever as it can be dangerous because of the large capacitors carrying 400+v which can kill. although it depends on the psu some have a 3 pin/2 pin fan header at which you could just install a new quieter fan without touching anything else but the fan headers. I don't advise this and im pretty sure no one does but its up to you. you could try narrowing it down a little too see if its just the psu unit itself vibrating or actually the fan. and go from there.

if you don't want to change it out id either try putting the psu on some rubber or something to dampen the noise or buy a new psu altogether if the noise is that bad.

OR... you could see if you can rma it if its new for a replacement :).
