hey guys,

need some advise my psu for my media server has blown up - it is a socket a motherboard running xp2200 cpu

very old machine yes but I remember I had to modify the PSU from 24 pin to 20pin

is there still PSU out there for me that I can buy from ocuk website that doesn't need this modification?

please advise.

Im not 100% sure you can get one from OCUK (they are usually good new ones.)

But im sure you can get 20+4 pin connectors on certain PSUs so you can pick between the two, I know they're out there but its usually the lower quality, non modular, low voltage models.

Have a look though.

thanks not too bothered about quality
the one thing i am worried about it silence
would like a psu that is not too loud

hold on lost in translation sorry I said it wrong guys!

the problem I got is one of the wires has come out of the pin
and will not go back in - this is why the machine no longer powers up. I was trying to force this little black wire in but doesn't go!

nothing exploded or blew up

I shall try show you pics of what has gone wrong
will use pliers to get it working if possible.

but in the meantime any chance of a link from ocuk site for a psu that will work?

putting the wire back into place did not work and I need a new psu fan.

damnit! :(

so I need a 20 pin ATX PSU for socket A

members market? mmm let me see how to get there

surely someone from this forum has an old quiet PSU lying around for me!
I feel gutted because I threw my old one away only 2 weeks back!
