PSU for Antec 1200

I'm looking at this Antec PSU:

I have the Antec 1200 V3 full tower case and I need a PSU with long enough power cables to hide them behind the mobo.

The rig is set up for a home server and hence will be loaded with disks, I3, Integrated graphics.

Also - I assume if I get a 550W PSU that the watts consumed will be based on the installed hardware/usage. If I'm idling along is the wattage higher that a lower rated PSU or does the max watt not impact the idling wattage.

its a gd psu i have the 750w verison, the cables are fairly long, but u could always get cable extensions for it.
