PSU for Radeon 6870?

Hoping someone can help me. I'm thinking of getting a new PSU. My current one, a Corsair CX500 is my second one of those after the first died in under a year. I think it could have been that my machine was a little too much for it, once the Radeon 6870 was included. The new one is making a slightly odd noise, and whilst I may be overracting, i'm probably quite paranoid about it now, because the last one dying killed my HDD I don't want that to happen again.

I've looked at AMD's list of recommended PSU's (http://support.amd.com/us/certified/power-supplies/Pages/listing.aspx) but it's a slightly concerning page as it lists lots of PSU's but when you look at the details a lot of them don't list devices.

Therefore I was hoping for a recommendation from someone. Thanks.

What's the rest of your spec and budget?
Something like this would be ideal. If you're wanting to spend more then something like this.

i would go with a 650w to be on the safe side

500W is easily enough for a 6870. 650 is beyond overkill for a single card and can x-fire 2 of them.
