PSU issues

first of all ... hi all, new on here!

second: well here's the issue, almost every pc ive owned ive gone through at least 2/3 power supplies, the last one has just died was an EZ cool 650W to me not a cheap power supply internally surge protected and also on a surge protected line, so rules that out! i was playing Crysis 2 when my pc just powered down i went to restart the pc as i thought it had over heated but no the power supply has blown on the 12V rail, as the 3V led on the front case for the card reader is lit up!

system isnt exactly special :
AMD Phenom X2 overclocked 16%
ATi radeon HD 5670 also overclocked
4gb DDR2 Voltage increase 1.9v
4 sata HDD's
cooling wise got an EZ cool case with coolers on the HDD's, extractor by the CPU with dual fans on the CPU, big extractor fan on the side of the case blowing air through and out the case!

have no idea why they keep failing as there's no strain to the power supply really and dust is kept minimum with regular clear outs and compressed air blow outs!

any input would help me greatly

If you bin the rubbish EZ cool psu, it WILL help.

I wouldn't touch ez cool with my friend's bargepole welded to the end of my bargepole

reet thats me told on the EZ cool front lol! ive got a cheap replacement at the minute which just to get my pc up and running cause i needed it, but surely they shouldnt be so fragile and just die like this! its annoying

Not fragile, underspecified or overrated, take your pick. Component quality is probably the biggest issue.
A decent quality 500w model will almost certainly do better than a cheap 650w.

tbh EZ cool ain't that bad, I have a infinity 700W psu from then and it does nicely and never had a problem.

it did seem fine n never had any sign it was about to die no burning smells etc just straight up switched off n blam no more PSU, case temperature is quite high at times 40+ wouldve thought this isnt ideal constantly with everythin else being 35+ degree hard drives etc
