PSU noise

Hi,

I've temporarily disconnected a couple of case fans and found the source of a relatively high pitched noise. It's not aggressively loud and I'm wondering if PSUs in general do make a bit of a noise or whether if it's replaced I then generally wouldn't hear it.

The noise a PSU makes is usually proportional to how much it costs. My Antec units are very quiet

Well at £78.98 I guess it's pretty quiet!

Make sure your case is lifted enough off the floor and it's not on a carpet so it gets proper airflow for the PSU.. assuming it is pointed downwards. If it's not, it might be starved of air by a GPU.

Other than that.. Those TX series ones are loud I heard.

Funny thing is, I got a "CX"-series budget one and it's completely silent.
