I had my coolmaster M700 PSU go belly up on boxing day, it started when my comp was turned on pressed the button it lit up the led's then went off for roughtly 5 seconds and came back on, then booted normally. Then it just died on me, So I had get a new PSU so went to local rip off superstore and got a Jeantech 1000watt absolute to replace it (all they had in store :( ) all was well till today. It has started doing the same thing press button lights up then goes off 5 secs ish then starts up again an boots normally, I have trired it a couple of times and it does this every time.

Can anyone tell me why ? is it a problem with something else ? any help will be great.

Thanks Andy

My new set up does this, kinda, though not so long for 5 secs, it receives power for 1 sec, then loses it for 1 sec then boots, but it all works ok so i'm happy. I put it down to maybe charging the capictors on the M/B or somat, but it'd be unusual for a system to suddenly start doing it? not sure, but as i say if it works just keep smiling

I contacted Jeantech about this and this their reply..

Q. start running then it shuts off for maybe 1-2 seconds then starts again everything boots normally

A. it's because the Temperature Control owing to environmental temperature is low make PSU cannot supply enough power to the fan and LED immediately and after a few seconds when the voltage for fan is up to normal volatge, the fan and LED can start work normally. This will not destroy the performance of the PSU, the TC is to control to decrease noise.

Q. "if I leave it for a longer period it does the stall boot thing."

A. --- this is because the power in the capacitor was discharge after a period of time.

Just anyone like me who didn't know this :D

My P5Q Deluxe mobo does this when power has been fully removed ie switched off at the mains, it powers on, blips the fans then switches off and then a few seconds later the system fires up. I asked on these forums and apparently the P5Q range does this so maybe the same applies to your P5K

You could be right on it there, everyone i've asked about it say more or less same thing its "either or" So could there is NO right answer maybe :D
