PSU problem?

Over the past few months I've been getting issues with waking from sleep, network adapter dropping out and now (since the upgrade of a GFX card which is presumably more power hungry) it wont start at all unless I reset the PSU from the rear switch first.

Is this PSU related? The whole lot is only just over 12 months old (purchased and built June 2012). When booted up and running it runs faultlessly, apart from the occasional network adapter dropping out like I mentioned.

Spec is:

OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze'
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H mobo
Core i3 2100
16GB Patriot Viper Xtreme DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz
64GB SSD for OS and games
2TB HDD for storage
GFX was a HD6850 now VTX 7870
Monitor is a recent Dell 24" LED 1900x1200 connected via DVI
W7 64bit Ultimate

Update*

I've changed the PSU for a new one (no great expense, plus the old one is OK so I can use it in another build I plan to do) but still have the same issues.

Surely this must now mean it's a mobo/BIOS problem or setting I'm not aware of?

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I've tried resetting the CMOS, I've flashed the BIOS and tried returning it to the original working version and none of these have made any difference.

Any help would be great, it's a pain to live without sleep mode as the tower unit doesn't normally live in an easily accessible position, I've had to leave it dragged out so I can start it up.

Cheers in advance.
