PSU Query

Hi,

I had planned to re-use my old PSU (Corsair HX 620) but am now selling it with the rest of my old components. Please could someone recommend a good PSU for the following spec:

i5 2500k (planning to OC to 4.4 upwards)
P8P67 Pro (B3)
8GB RAM
1x5850
1xSSD, 1xHDD, 1xOptical drive

Ideally, I'd like to keep the cost under £100.

8GB of RAM?

Anyway, take a look at 'Corsair Gaming Series GS 800W 80 Plus Power Supply'. 700w version would be fine also.

I saw on the Antec on the homepage (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-116-AN) or the OCZ 700W in the weekly offers (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-047-OC) but wasn't sure how good they were.

Gone for 8GB RAM to help run VMs on my machine.

Both the Antec and OCZ PSUs are good. 600W of good quality PSU should be plenty for your rig.

800W is complete overkill for that rig. you could probably power 3 5850's off of an 800W PSU.

this will be plenty: BeQuiet Pure power 530W PSU

and if you want a modular PSU: XFX 650W XXX edition Modular PSU
(this is the cheapest modular PSU from a brand i know is good. However, im not too hot on my PSUs, so there might be a cheaper and just as reliable alternative here)

The XFX 650W XXX edition Modular PSU gets my vote, more than enough power and better quality than ocz or bequite.

NZXT Hale 550W can be had for £65 if you look around. Beats the pants off any of the other PSUs so far listed.

+1. If you really can get it for that price then I think it's unbeatable.
