PSU Question

Theres this PSU made by Hi-Power (haven't heard of this brand) rated at 800W (reviewed by buyers to be very quiet) and has 12v1, 12v2, 12v3 and 12v4 at 20A each for around £60
And my other option is a Antec Earthwatt PSU rated at 550W or Corsair 420W for about the same price.

so questions are
1.) Which one would you personally buy?
2.) Which one would be guaranteed to be almost silent?
3.) Would that be able to handle a single High-end GPU (e.g. HD 4870 1GB) including my current rig (except for the graphics card)
4.) Would it be able to handle SLi or Crossfire on High-end GPU (i.e. 9800GTX+ or 4870 1GB on dual gfx card settings)

cause atm, I am looking for silence and upgradability. But I won't be buying any of these yet till next month, but just want to get as many opinions as I can as I have never owned a well known brand PSU so atm, I'm really looking to get the 800W as I've never had a problem with unknown branded one's except for the noise, but this one unknown brand option I have on the list has a few reviews, so i'm pretty confident it would be quiet. Because at the moment, Noise is the only problem I have with my PSU, apart from that, its all good.

HI, about 70% here will say: do not get Hiper as it'll blow up!
I had very good experience with Hiper, same as many of me mates: 80A-will handle SLI GTX280 or CrossfireX 4870!

While Corsair 420W and Antec 550W-Will NOT!

Silence-more or less will be same!

but 800W for your Rig be Overkill if u not going to go for Sli or CrossfireX!
will u go for two cards?

sorry mate, I meant Hi-Power :( clumsy me :(
lol, the name confused me as Hiper is quite a known brand, it got stuck in my head, oh well, its corrected now

Edit: Oh and yeah, I don't plan to go for SLi or crossfire anytime soon. But I am planning to go for high-end (2nd or 3rd best card) before I go to university or while I'm in university this year.

I'd go for max of about £200 by then (Aug-Sep), so I don't know what card yet, I would go for best price/performance ratio within the budget, whichever that is by then. But I'm sure by then, power consumption won't be any different from what its like now.

But If I had to choose now, I'd go for 4870 1GB as its the best performance for the price and its within £200 or less.

Why bother changing it then? A much easier option would be to mod it and change the fans. I've got a old q-tec psu that I changed the fans in to ys-tech ones and volt modded them and it's been silently and happily running an overclocked athon xp system for the last 5 years. Q-tec psu's had a far worse rep than Hiper as well.

Get the Corsair TX750, best PSU going imho for the price. You won't need to upgrade your PSU for a long time and it will run and SLI or Crossfire setup you care to throw at it.
