PSU Questions

But I would ideally like to get word from people with experience with Antec's RMA procedure, because postage for this item will no doubt be expensive.
tbh every rma are abit different. e.g maybe one time a company will ask not much then for another person they may ask for more details.

1. Your current config peaks around 250W.
2. Very few dual card configs go above 400W.

Would 700W be enough? Say, for 2 x 4870x2s.
That's already quad crossfire. And one of the few situations when ~1kW PSU is actually justified:
530W for two X2's and then throw 150w for CPU and other components.

Well my rig is drawing 340w at the wall while gaming. He has a quad which is even more power hungry. His graphics card also consumes another 25w more than mine and he has 4x as much ram as well. He is going to need at least a 500w psu for his current rig alone. If he ever goes for a pair of X2's which is 512w just for the cards he may get away with a 750w psu. Personally i would want a bit of extra headroom such as at least 850w. He's looking for a psu that will see him through all possible upgrades.

With corsair the website asked where and when I bought it. No physical proof of purchase was required.

If Antec to insist on a reciept ....
