psu reccomendations

please reccomend me a psu
christmas round the corner and my good lady wants a list drawing up
so
idealy i would like a 4870 x 2, but my hyper s type 580 wont do the job so a new psu is a must
so with that in mind whats good and whats not good, nothing too over the £££ top, something to run a x 2 or maybe another 512 in xfire

You might as well get a Corsair HX620W - it's a better unit.

@the OP - why do you think the Hiper 580W won't hack it? I reckon it will be plenty for 1 4870X2. If you want 2 of them in CossfireX then I'd recommend a seriously oomphy PSU - I'm using a Corsair HX 1000, which will stand you in good stead for a long, long time.

A second vote for the hx620w
Ive heard a couple of people having problems with that particular hiper psu so id be safe and go with a corsair for the sake of argument as you have a very hefty gfx card there.

The HX620 is very good, ive got one powering my rig. My thinking was just that a 4870x2 is a beast of a card and it sounds like the op has a pretty high end rig. If the op doesnt care about modular then the 620 and 750 are bout the same price, personal choice really imo.
