Hi,

I have an old-ish system with a AMD64 4200 939pin and gigabyte MB, unfortunately we've recently had a power cut and the PC no longer boots up at all.
I'm assuming that this is due to a damaged PSU.

If this is the case can anyone advise me on which PSU I can replace this with?

thanks very much in advance for any advice you can offer. :D

thanks,

Carrot

You could slap a generic £15 unit in as a stop gap measure just to make sure that it is the PSU that has died? :) Or borrow one from a friend?

Then go for either of the units that we have mentioned which would see you on for many more years.

+1 for corsair here, been running 650W for the past year or so now not a problem what so ever made a change from my hiper 580.

The same thing happened to me 2 months ago on my socket 939 system.

I bought a corsair 650w and ended up with an i5 - 750 gaming rig and new case.

One thing I forgot to mention, there are about 3 IDE Hard Drives in this PC, do either of these PSUs have the connectors for IDE Hard Drives? (is that the Molex connector?)

thanks,

Carrot

Yes, its the four pin molex connectors, they should have more than enough.

You can visit the manufacture websites to get a full description and the lenghts of the cables.
