PSU Thread

I have a Gainward 6600GT at the moment but might change to something else.
Glad to hear 500w would do. I'll have a look at those.

Thanks.

^ It sure will. It's a good PSU, but for a simliar amount of money I would go for a BeQuiet or Zalman as they're very quiet.

I was looking at this

Sorry, I don't know, but will this PSU power all 6 of my HDrives, like, is there enough cables.

Yes it will but is very overpriced for a 620w psu. The 600w Zalman (if it was actually in stock) is only £85. If it does'nt have to be modular, how about the PC Power and Cooling silencer 610w? Very good psu at a very good price, £73. The description says it has 15 drive connectors!!

That setup won't use too much power, 450w+ would be ideal as long as you don't plan on putting in a high end Graphics Card in the future.

Any one of these would be fine.

Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant £77.04

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad-Crossfire PCI-E 750W £103.49

The more expensive ones are only worth considering if you up grade the graphics card to something high end.

All the psu's above are made by Seasonic.

Thanks for those links and advice as well.

If I was changing the Graphic card it could be something like the Nvidia 8600GT 512Mb

Just placed an order for this Corsair TX 650W, thought I would get it while its on offer.
I needed a case too BTW. Getting it on Wednesday, hopefully.
The 600w Zalman isn't in stock.

Again, thanks all for your help.

Did I read somewhere that this PSU might have to be installed upside down?.
Corsair TX 650W
The case I'm getting is the Lian-Li PC-A70B
Hopefully they both should arrive tomorrow and I thought I would ask you guys first.
Thanks.

PSU and case just arrived, could I please ask, does the PSU have to go in upside down in this case.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, if the PSU fits at the bottom of the case (like my LianLi) the fan should face upwards (i.e. PSU upside down) so as not to block the fan exhaust.

Good choice of PSU, I have the same one I have been using for the last year now. Rock solid and quiet. :)

It should depend on your case rather then the PSU.

Make sure there is space between the fan and the case.
The PSU will work mounted anyway round.
