So the power unit has gone from my mum's (my old) PC (The green/black paper clip test didn't work). I tried seeing it my PSU would work initially but the connector on my PSU (Corsair HX520) is larger than that of my mum's PC - it seems to have a extra little socket things on each row.

Thus since I am in the market for a new PSU, how will I know if it will fit my mum's motherboard, looking on the OCUK website, the pin count doesn't seem listed on some PSUs (name the Corsair ones which I have a preference to). The motherboard in question is the ASUS A78NX-E.

Your mums pc will probably be using an older 20 pin atx socket, a 24 pin will fit, iirc it will hang over he socket on the board, on any psu ive used the 4 extra pins can be disconnected away from the other 20 on the block.
