Hey guys I'm upgrading from an HX650 to something with more headroon, I had narrowed my PSU choice to the BeQuiet DP 1000W or the Corsair HX1000, I felt I needed to go 1kW to justify the upgrade. Now I'm thinkin that maybe I should get the AX850 or the AX1200 thoughts guys? My system is in my sig at the bottom and I'm thinkin of getting watercooling at some point.

I run i7 with watercooling overcloked to 4ghz crossfire 5850 and this pulls 430w from the mains with prime and 2006 win mark running, it's no Fur Mark test but gives you a idea.

^ wow didn't realise it wasn't pulling that much power, everyone has always said to upgrade the PSU, The thing is I am going to use this PSU in another rig at some point (media server) so which would be my best choice for a replacement for this one, I'm guessing u'll say the AX850, but it feels a wast to go less than 1kW

If you like the corsair HX series why not just buy a HX 750?

Getting a 1k is a waste of money and power as unless you ramp you kit up hugely you wont be using anywhere near 1 k of power.

1k power is just e-peen for 90% of people :D

tru, however I would not get the HX750 wen the AX850 is £30 more and more efficient, thanks for the advice though I'll see if anyone else has input

Very nice not really looked at the AX series before, kinda makes the HX 850 redundant.

Wherent the HX 750 and 850 reclassified as gold instead of silver a short time ago??
