Hi all,

After looking into my non booting/random shutting down problem a bit more, I've noticed in my BIOS my voltages aren't looking good...

3.3v is showing as 2.862v and in red
5v is showing as 5.040v
12v is showing as 12.080

Could that 3.3v being low be the reason my computer refuses to boot now and kept giving me random black screens?

I don't have anything to test the voltages properly unfortunately.

Cheers

Is the spec the one in your sig?

I would personally test the voltage with a meter before trusting any software readouts.

It did used to show slightly higher than 3.3v in the bios, which is why I'm thinking it's gone **** up, especially with the problems I've been having, and it's been rock solid since I built it?

does it show less than 3.3v in various monitoring software?

only way to be sure is try a different psu, then see how it goes for stability

It won't boot anymore, gets to loading windows and just freezes.

No other PSU to test it with unfortunately, I'm kind of stuck.

Could a low voltage cause the machine to not boot and give the issues it has? It was booting before and kept crashing on Battlefield 4, then it was just going off browsing the web, and now BIOS is all I can load up.

Tried booting from your windows dvd disc and doing a startup repair? Might need 2 to 3 attempts

Also did you install windows in ahci or IDE mode for the SATA ports? Check in BIOS the SATA ports are in ahci, try in IDE mode also

If it's actually that low, yes it could. My pwr_ok line was low on an ocz psu I had, and that prevented it from even posting.cpu never got the go ahead so it just repeatedly reboot with all the fans at full whack. Buy/borrow a multimeter and test the voltages to see what's going on.
