hi people, having just upgraded to a asus Rampage IV Extreme and 3960x im having all kinds of problems when the system posts it comes up with the words usb over current system will shut down in 15 seconds it does this time and time again and then suddenly stops and boots to windows. when windows loads i have static sound coming though headphones/speakers when i move the mouse while play any kind of sound.
the system does the same thing with no usb devises plugged in, i have checked all the usb ports they look fine and i have unplugged everything from the system except from ssd still the same problem.
next step i removed my psu 1200 watt tough-power from the case and ran it from my desk still the same problem, in a last effort i borrowed a psu from a friend started it up on my desk and it works perfectly boots straight away and no static. the weird thing is i have tested my toughpower with a psu tester and it says everything is fine all voltages are in spec how is this possible? it seems the psu is the problem but i just dont understand how!
