Hiper is on the case...

Ok who thinks this is a useful feature? I don't.

They should be thinking like Corsair, to make a no nonsense kickbutt PSU because a PSU is a PSU and modern mobos come with at least 6 USB2 ports anyway plus the front case mounted ports.

And what happens when you bung in several high load devices? does the PSU blow up ? arfskies.

Sure more ports are handy but mobos these days have 6 at "least" mine has 6 just on the back of the mobo ffs!

The thing here is though why on the PSU? especially with Hiper's reputation for PSU quality as of late...

They're not data ports, right? IF so they're just for charging/powering USB devices. I'd find that quite handy as I frequently end up connecting devices just to charge. Not having to hog a real USB port would be nice.

Wouldn't interest me too much, I'd be fairly sure that they aren't data ports and about the only thing I could/do charge from a USB port usually is my mobile phone and that is too slow compared to using the supplied mains charger. I don't see the point but if it doesn't compromise quality or cost more then I've got nothing massively against the idea.

And if they aren't data ports and are just for power, 10 seems to be a little OTT? 1, maybe 2 at the most would be used.

With Hiper's PSU reputation - I wouldn't trust my USB devices being attached to that thing :/

Well considering that all USB ports outer ground/earth connection is connected to ALL psu's earth anyway then it's not going to make a great deal of difference if/when the PSU goes pop!! The only possible extra danger would be if something came lose inside the PSU and shorted direct onto the USB sockets in the PSU, however these 'should' be fully insulated inside the PSU.

It's nothing new. Other psu's have had this for quite a while now. NorthQ have at least two psu's with this feature. Personally i would never need it as my mobo and case have more than eneough usb slots for me.

It would definately interested me if in the future they were supplied with the up and coming USB3. Especially if I still had a mobo that only supported USB2.

not usefull lol.. just more damm wires lol!

and if that is a hiper psu i urge you to get rid of it now! i gave a bran new one away this morning as i really did not want it anywhere near my pc :D

Bit of a gimmick if you ask me, as suggested above, 1/2 ports is a cute idea, 8 is a waste of money better spent on the design/hardware of the PSU.
